Steve Vickers
Steve is the Owner of DayStar Machine & Cycle Concepts. His love of motorcycles and motorcycle drag racing began at an early age in Baker, LA. Steve’s passion for motorcycles was greatly influenced by watching his uncle who has been a pioneer in the world of Harley Drag Racing. His love and fascination for motorcycles was the driving force behind his decision to become a motorcycle mechanic.
In 1996, Steve graduated at the top of his class from the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, FL. His Harley Mechanic Certification opened the doors to his 26-year career in the Performance Harley and Drag Racing Industries. In 1996, he began working alongside his uncle helping run the family-owned race shop providing high-performance parts and service for street-driven and drag racing Harley Davidson Motorcycles.
In the Drag Racing Industry, Steve has been a Nitro Harley Crew Chief for over 10 years and is currently crew chief for Tim Kerrigan Racing. To date, his career achievements as crew chief include a Top Fuel Harley Championship, a Nitro Funny Bike Championship, and the “Wrench of the Year” award from AMRA.
In late 2021, Steve and Gina opened their own machine shop, DayStar MCC, in Dobson, NC, producing custom performance and racing products. Steve’s extensive knowledge and experience, using the products that he manufactures, provides an edge over an ordinary machine shop that could produce similar products. Steve will continue to offer support for Harley Drag Racing teams. In addition, Steve will work in-house with Renegade Cycles, located in Dobson, NC, to provide certified Harley Mechanic and Dyno Tuning Services.
Gina Vickers
Gina is a retired Air Force Veteran and Co-owner/Chief of Operations of DayStar Machine & Cycle Concepts. She assists in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business and the strategic direction, vision, growth and performance of DayStar MCC. She has a Master’s Degree in Business with over 15 years’ experience in operations management.
Gina also has a love for motorcycles and enjoys working alongside of her husband, Steve, on projects and all things Harley Drag Racing. She has a heart for faith-based non-profit organizations and ministries. She currently serves as the Operations Manager for Anchor Ridge, a non-profit that helps children in need that live in the Appalachian Mountains.
