AHDRA Race Recap - Rockingham, NC

August 23-24

Friday evening, Q1 ran 6.50 @ 212 mph, Tim had his hands full, spinning the tire at the 330' mark.

Saturday Q2 Steve stepped up the fuel and clutch, improving to a 6.45 @ 213 mph, holding on to the #2 qualifying position.

We decided to sit out Q3, so we could go into eliminations with fresh rod bearings.

E1, it was a rematch from our final round win in Valdosta, against Ziggy. Our 6.44 @ 182 mph beat his 6.86, putting us in the final against Ryan Peery.

After returning to the pit, we discovered that the engine had destroyed the pinion shaft, which resulted in our low mph. We notified Ryan that we would be unable to make the final. Ryan being the true racer that he is did not want to win on a bye run. He told us to put Tim on the old bike, and make the call.

Steve had to dig through the tuning archives, to find a somewhat hopeful tune up. The best tune up he came across was from 2020. When the lights turned green, Ryan got the jump, and ran the quickest pass of the event, for the win.

Tim was still very happy considering the circumstances. This was the first time on this bike in 4 years, and ran 6.52 @ 210 mph, the quickest he has been on that bike. Thanks to the entire TKR race team, for another great weekend.

Ryan and his team also had to overcome issues to make it to the final. Congratulations to them, on a hard fought win!
